The opening dialogue didn't sound like any teens I know. That said, Birdy, with her dilemma of being late for ballet, pulled me into the story. I want her to get there on time and not be shamed. The meet cute and all that goes with it feels a bit like Twilight kind of romance. I want to like Tristan, but I am not sure you can trust a guy who kisses your just-bandaged knees and then asks you out. He feels a little pushy, and I worry that Birdy is just a conquest.
