Starts like a fluffy YA romance, but the synopsis tells of a darker side...curiosity piqued.

Though I'm not really a fan of the pink, the tag line, or the font used for the title, I do enjoy the black and white balance of the cover and the inclusion of the feathers along the top edge. The contrast was the first thing that caught my eye, before I even noticed the dancer; in particular I like the starkness of the white background. In addition, there is something about the cover that felt a little Black Swan, so I needed to know what the synopsis might be.

The excerpt reads like a YA romance with fairly good description and an immediate moment that builds tension and pushes the pace of the story quickly. Though it does come off a little fluffy, the premise indicates a bit more darkness to the story, something that has me intrigued. I like a hard-hitting story and this one seems like it may have some great secrets to share along with a narrative that tackles a difficult subject. I'd like to see how that is handled and whether the writing continues to remain as comfortable and complete when the tough stuff comes along.
