One of my favorite books as a 10 year old, was the Red Shoes. I had taken ballet lessons from age 4 until I was about 9, when it was clear that I did not have the talent to move to get pointe shoes. Therefore, this book about a budding ballerina, Sparrow, stirred my interest. The cover compliments the title.
