I’m really looking forward to reading the rest of Sparrow by Mary Cecilia Jackson.

Immediately when starting this book, Sparrow’s voice is what draws you in. She is vulnerable and relatable, smart and a little funny, and she’s sad. She feels human from the start and it makes you want to find out what is going to happen to her, and what might have happened before.

I used to dance and I also loved the backdrop of dance for this story. Dance can be freeing and beautiful, but it can also be brutal and rigid, and I think that that juxtaposition will make a strong statement with the subtext of this story. Or at least I’m assuming, given what little I’ve read.

I loved this and can’t wait to read more.
