The book starts with a conversation between Birdy, a young high-schooler ballerina, the protagonist of this book, and Lucas, Birdy's friend and dance-mate. Birdy is late for her ballet class, and it appears that her ballet instructor is not going to be lenient with her. You hear a lot about abuse in the ballerina world, and I look forward to read this book.
