I want to start by saying I did not realize that this book was technically part of a series. I get that it's more of a stand alone set in the same word instead of a direct sequel, but I feel like I wouldve gotten a lot more out of it if I had read the other two books first.

That aside, I still really really liked this book. It was a very cute premise and even if thr romance started out a little rocky, understandably so considering what happens to trigger the rejection, getting to see Bao and Lan's love story unfold was very warm and fuzzy.

There was A LOT packed into this book, but the pacing never felt rushed. I thought the story as a whole flowed quiet nicely. It was a quick enough pace that it never felt like it was dragging on or getting boring/dull.

Reading this book definitely made me want to go back and read the other two, even if it would be slightly out of order.
