I found this story to be predictable but good.

This is a story of magic, love, and loss. Boa, a physician's apprentice with no family, is in love with Lan, the daughter of a wealthy nobleman. He is rejected harshly by Lan and flees, heartbroken, by boat to seek out the river witch. Instead of helping him, the witch curses him and sends him back to the village where Lan finds him. Together, bound by the witch's curse, they begin their journey to free Bao and discover the truth of his family and his past.

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick, fun read with lots of action. I would've liked to know more about other characters and to know more about the world in which they lived, but overall it was a good story.
