Honestly, after reading Dao's previous books, I kind of knew what to expect. Dao writes beautifully and I find myself hanging on every word. The beginning of the story has me ready for more! Lan and Bao already mean something to each other and there's so much more to learn about them. I enjoy Lan's passion for wanting to know more and understand. I feel Bao's pain of trying to be something for someone and feeling dragged under by his own feelings. These two will be hard on each other, but I'm ready for their development.
I loved that this book is connected to her previous novels. I don't have to dig too deep for the setting and understanding. I'm so excited to see what more Dao has planned for these two in the book!
