Beautiful Cover, Beautiful Novel!

I was absolutely blown away by Song of the Crimson Flower and its contents. Working from the outside in the cover is beautiful. The dragonfly brooch was a subtle detail alluding to the story that I’m glad they added. Julie C. Dao writes with amazingly descriptive language and is able to make you love each and every character(even the ones you aren’t supposed to). From the beginning to the end I watched Lan experience the adventure she’s always wanted all whilst laughing at how she got used to roughing it without the benefits of royalty. Lan and Bao’s story was beautiful and gave me chills constantly. The story not only kept me on my toes but truly made me appreciate the concept of love all over again. I will definitely be reading more works by this author in the future.
