I have unfortunately not read Dao's Rise of the Empress duology though it is on my TBR.
This sounds like a delightful fulfilling fantasy romance set in the same world after the duology. I'm sure I'll get more out of reading it in it order but...this preview was really so very good.
It started so nice and happy, which of course meant too good to be true. I love Lan and Bao so much already, I just want to read the rest of their story. Haven't even gotten past the blurb info in the preview, but I'm swept away.
