Lan loves Tam and believes he loves her back based on the many notes and poems she has received from him. Bao, an apprentice’s son, is in love with Lan and decides to confront her with the knowledge that it is he who wrote the notes. Lan rejects him and pushes him away. I’m curious to see how the magical flute and possession are incorporated in the story.
