I was hooked from the very first page. The excerpt was long, but that just made it more disappointing when I reached the end. I was immediately drawn to Lan, and intrigued by her betrothal. I can’t wait to finish the book. I appreciated the pronunciation guide, and I think it will be especially helpful to teen readers.
