What a great story so far!! While we are introduced to quite a few characters straight away, the story quickly focuses on Lan & Bao. Lan is the daughter of a royal minister, betrothed to Tam, the son of a physician. Bao is an orphan & apprentice to Tam's father.
The writing is excellent & very descriptive. I could almost smell the fish at the river market the scene was described so well.
With action & twists happening within the first few chapters, I was hooked! I definitely adding this book to my "to read" list.
