I may be jaded, but I appreciate that it's not immediately clear who's going to fall in love over the course of the story. As Lan has a love that's not Bao, I'm wondering how that will play out. I have some ideas, and I'm pretty sure I'm not that far off the mark, but there's a chance of a twist and it intrigues me.
