Wowee! What a great sounding book. I've read the first impression and I am at the edge of my seat. I just can't wait to find out what happens next. Song of the Crimson Flower is just my kind of thing. A long, sweeping story in another land in another time. What could be better? Unrequited love, magic, class struggles, a great guy of low birth in love with a girl of high birth who doesn't realize he is the right guy for her, so many things to overcome. It's a classic!
As I was reading the first impression, the visuals the words conjured were magical. It just flowed over me and created such a powerful "movie" in my mind. I am quite anxious to join in this journey, I must find out what happens. I was very happy to see a list of characters along with how to pronounce their names. I enjoy reading books that take place in faraway places but I never know how to pronounce the names - this is a very welcome addition to the book and I appreciate it very much. Thank you.
