I absolutely love this remix of Little Women! It didn't feel like a retelling, more of a point of view during and after the Civil War. Getting to re-read the March sisters in a different time, place, and situations, gave me such joy. And the writing of Bethany C. Morrows is beautiful, that I couldn't put down the book.
Morrows brings life into the characters and how they have gone through the civil war. Each sister have their own voice and a strong character. We got to see racism, white privilege, difference between northern and southern blacks, and the after effect of american slavery. She tackled these sensitive subjects with ease!
