As a young girl in the early 1960’s, I remember my mother giving me her copy of Little Women. It has always been a favorite of mine. When I received So Many Beginnings to read, I was worried about how I would react to this Little Women Remix. I found I could cast aside my worries. First, I love the cover. Second, after reading this book, I wish I was still teaching High school American Literature so this could be a choice for independent reading, and third, I am going to suggest this book to my bookclub to read.

I thought Bethany Morrow did a wonderful job honoring Alcott’s book and making her own book become a relevant piece of literature for a new generation. I really appreciated Morrow’s author notes about how history has been taught. Hoping it will change for our children and for our adult population. Thank you MacMillan Children’s Publishing Group, Feiwell and Friends, and Bookishfirst for an ARC of this book. The opinions in this review are my own.
