This book is a self described "kidnap-and-ransom thriller." This is not my usual genre, but the first impression was very intense and gripping so I decided to check it out. The book is at level 10 throughout, with drama and action around every corner. The story starts with a plane hijacking and main character Thea Paris is a passenger on the plane. She just so happens to be an expert negotiator and she finds herself in a race against time to free many hostages, two of which she has personal connections with. Unbeknownst to Thea, this plane hijacking has a lot to do with an act of terrorism that is set to take place if the corrupt culprits are not stopped.

This book is definitely a thriller with a sci-fi twist. I actually found it sad and depressing and not at all a light read. Some parts are also graphic to read. However, the character of Johann was a light in the darkness. His character was the best part of this book. Thanks for the chance to review this book!
