This was my first foray into a book written by KJ Howe. I am not sure I should call the book a surprise, but anytime I read a new author I am unsure whether the writing will enjoyable to read or whether I have to slog through the book. Skyjack was a quick read and I felt Ms. Howe did a great job with her pacing, character descriptions, plot, etc. Quantum International is an international hostage negotiation and recovery team that is unwittingly drawn into a private plane skyjacking when Quantum's principal, Thea Paris, is on the plane escorting two boys from Africa to the adoptive parents in London. The intrigue stretches from the deserts of Africa to Eastern Europe and Turkey. Combatting radical xenophobes and heads of the Italian mob, Quantum has its hands full trying to recover the kidnap victims and thwart a biological weapon attack. A great read for suspense lovers.
