Though this is book two in a series, it doesn't seem like not having read the first book in the series should be too much of a problem. After the way the chapter in this excerpt ended, I can only imagine that the plot will be tense and intriguing. Up until the ending I was wondering if the plot was going to pick up, but it was quite a page turner of an ending.
