The first thing I thought when I began this book was, "This reads like Koontz." That was not a compliment. It lost me completely when after a few pages, the protagonist describes someone on her plane as a "slickster" and another a "dandy." I mean, what year is it? I felt like I was reading the script to a 60s flick. But okay, she's an English protagonist. I'll forgive it.

Kudos to the author for allowing her to perform accurate and up-to-date CPR, however.

I'll admit that if I ignore the writing style and stick to the story being told, I was a bit intrigued by the end of the preview. I also really want to support female authors creating strong female leads in stories that aren't just about love, divorce, or affairs. Definitely not my genre, but suspenseful thrillers always read quickly since they make good mind movies.
