Thea Paris is on a flight with two African refugee child soldiers who are heading to London to be adopted. Thea HATES flying but trying to play it cool given it is the two young children's first flight. Thea is a kidnap negotiator so she is used to crises. She sees the copilot leave the cockpit, which seemed off to her. Then she saw a man who looked like he felt nervous. Next thing, the man is collapsed in his seat. She begins CPR and another guy goes to get he AED. The copilot checks in and she recommends an emergency landing. The man is not responding to the AED but the real problem is that the pilot has locked his copilot out of the cockpit.
