This sounds so intense! It reminds me of a documentary I recently watched on Netflix about human trafficking. They were getting a lot of their victims from Syrian refuges who were women and female children. From there, they were taken to a lot of the places it is legal to have prostitution. Most cases, they would threaten the women that if they didn’t work then they would kill their family. This would cause them to be too afraid to speak up and say they weren’t doing this under their own free will. The one threatening was their pimp and would take their money. It was really appalling to watch. I can’t wait to see just what lurks in this book. I’m sure it’s something horrific but will keep the reader engaged.
