This was a really interesting premise for a book. The characters were likeable from the start, and you wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen next. The alternating viewpoints added to your desire to keep reading as a chapter might end with a small cliffhanger before the next chapter switches to a different part of the story. The writing style was easy to read, and it definitely propelled the story forward.

However, a few minor issues prevented me from giving this a higher rating. While I enjoyed the story and wanted to keep reading, I did think that some areas were not explained enough. I never understood the connection between Hank and Maria to the point where I thought I must have missed something earlier in the book. I was also unsure about the ending. It was confusing to know if there was a parallel universe plot thread or if there was a new beginning for the characters.
