All I can say is WOW! I’m both very happy that I read the First Look and very sad that I have to wait for this book to be published! From the start, I was immediately drawn in by the cover. Not only is it pretty, but the not-quite mirror image piqued my curiosity. Then, after reading the premise of the book, I knew this book would hit close to home. I have a very personal connection to Sliding Doors so I already feel a strong connection to this story.
When I was 15, my dad got in a minor fender bender that required some auto work to be done in the shop and left us with one car. Two weeks later, he ended up leaving work early because his car was in the shop - and a few minutes after he left, a man walked into his office and killed 3 people. Considering how close his office was to the entrance (and the fact that he was in the target group), he would have undoubtedly been killed had he been there. I always wondered how my “other” life would be had even one circumstance changed.
Ultimately, this excerpt kept me wanting more. The premise of this book is beyond intriguing. I also found the main character to be relatable in so many ways and I already saw so much of myself in her. And, on top of it all, my interest was piqued no fewer than 5 times while reading this first look. This is undoubtedly going to be a wild and emotional ride and I cannot wait to read it!
