I am very intrigued by this book! Maria doesn't want to believe what Sylvia has to say but she knows too much about Maria and Rachel that wasn't common knowledge.
After Sylvia commits suicide, Maria is called to the police station because Sylvia left a note for her. The detective asks her questions about Rachel and the death of her infant son. He wants to know if Rachel was investigated for the death or was it just treated as an accident. Maria doesn't remember but she's sure Rachel couldn't have done anything wrong.
When the questioning is over, the detective asks Maria the name of her unborn son. She tells him it's a secret that she has written in her journal and picked the first time she felt him move. He wants to know if it is "Blaise"?
Did the detective find this out from Sylvia's letter? Did Sylvia know that Rachel had something to do with her son's death? Was Sylvia's death not a suicide? Did Rachel kill Sylvia?
