The struggle between reality and the desire to keep wearing rose-colored glasses is real. It’s interesting to consider the protagonist’s plight. Who wouldn’t want to fight to return to family, yet who wouldn’t also want to preserve the current moment in which everyone is ok? I recently read the Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I’m thinking this might be a similar analysis of the choices we make, the choices we didn’t make, and what we learn from both.
