I was hooked the instant Sylvia said she regretted not warning her husband and his past fiancé about the tornado, ultimately damning her to die. I instantly wondered what I would do in her situation, and I'm not sure it would have been any different. Sylvia's story and her warnings sucked me in and I'm left wanting to know what happens with Rachel's laptop and Maria. And since I love a good dual timeline - I need to know how she gets sent back in time as well.
The cover of the book is nice, and reminds me of movie Sliding Doors, clearly demonstrating the two streams of life.
