Thank you to Bookish HQ, Bookish First, and Simon and Schuster for the free gifted copy of “She’s Out” by Lynda LaPlante. #partner 📚

Going into this read I was at first unaware that it was the last book in a trilogy. I usually would never just jump into the final book without having read the others, but once I started reading I realized that LaPlante actually does a good job of recapping what happened in the first two books. I then did not feel so lost and felt like I had a better understanding of the plot and characters. I also realized that I saw the movie “Widows” back in 2018 which was about the first book in this trilogy!

Seeing as I read this book as a stand-alone, I think it can actually be read on its own and be enjoyed. There is a lot of crazy drama that takes place and I had fun going along for the ride. Once I got past the halfway point I flew through the rest, wanting to see how it was all going to end!

My biggest criticism would probably be that there are a lot of characters in this book and I sometimes found myself confused as to who was doing what. Maybe I wouldn’t have struggled with this if I had read the first two books, but personally I don’t love a vast amount of characters in a book.

Overall I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy a good crime drama, but would also recommend reading the whole trilogy instead of just the final book in order to have a better reading experience.
