I'm not a big mystery murder fan so at first glance at the blurb this book didn't appeal to me, however, the "first look" is incredibly well written. It drew me in and I found the main character intriguing. The cover is plain to me and I could see myself walking right past it in a bookshop. Since this story revolves around diamonds an murder, I would have expected to see diamonds somewhere on the cover and perhaps a murder weapon.
