I suppose it might have helped if I'd read any of the books that were in this I guess series before this one, but I don't really care for the writing style. A laundry list of characters, just names without any real description of back story, I felt dropped in the middle of a story without a clue. Guessing people who've read the earlier books might enjoy it.
