Solid but slow

This is a solid read, but too slow, with any suspense only starting around page 200. As the book continues, with nothing happening, the reader is easily able to predict the "big twist" because there's nothing else to work with. There are few characters and fewer answers, so the story is funneled into the big reveal(s) with minimal surprise. The main character makes the worst choices, and her daughter is entirely hateable. The reader is told little about what people look like (except for one of the thinly-hidden reveals). The reader knows nothing about why Meghan never continues with her meetings, as they become a wholly discarded plot device. There could have been more suspense in the beginning of this book, something more to keep the reader turning pages. I liked this book, but I didn't love it. I did want to know the ending, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars for being a solid read.
