Meghan is a well-respected ICU nurse. She is also a single mother, recently divorced. One day a patient arrives in a coma. Apparently this patient, Caitlin, attempted suicide. But did she really? I thought this book started out somewhat slow and a bit repetitious but then the story ramped up with several surprises and twists! The only thing that really bothered me was that Meghan was always walking home in the dark and in a not-so-good neighborhood with a stalker on the loose! Grrr! Anyway Meghan starts to become very involved in the patient’s life which a nurse should not do. But there is something about this patient that is disturbing. The author, Kubica, really knows how to distract the reader by leading him/her in one direction then throwing in twists and completely making the reader, which is me, question what I just read! Good book. Fast read. If you are a Kubica fan you will like this story!
