A twisty, engaging read
Kubica's latest is a twisty, engaging read.
Meghan is flawed yet relatable. I enjoyed the dual storylines as it was fun to see how everything linked together. The pace is a bit slower than many in this genre, but the twists held my interest and kept me guessing. The pace did pick up as the story unfolded. I was very happy to see that, despite the hospital setting for a large part of the story, Kubica didn't feel the need to mention Covid. Things don't tie up neatly at the end, so the reader is left to wonder what happened to some of the characters.
The cover has a creepy vibe that is a good fit for the story. Overall, this was a quick read, as I couldn't wait to find out what happened with Caitlin and Meghan. Was it suicide or murder?
I've read other books by this author, and they never disappoint to keep me on the edge of my seat. I look forward to future releases.
