The color and layout of the cover instantly grabbed my attention. The title intrigued me as well as the streetlight over the bridge, and seeing this was a new book from Mary Kubica I immediately wanted to take a look.
Her development of characters eases the reader in and nothing is given up too quickly, and meeting Meghan does not disappoint. The reader learns just enough in these first 21 pages to pull them in and want to find out more. The two pieces of the story being woven together but also separately creates an interesting timeline; I can't wait to read more!!
