This immediately has all the classic Mary Kubica suspense that you're expecting from one of these thrillers. I will say, I'm a very picky thriller reader, and there are certain things that arbitrarily turn me off of a story, and one of them is present here. The premise sounded great, but the MC is a mom whose child may or may not be in danger and that's just something I'm over in the thriller genre. Again, totally arbitrary, definitely not trying to yuck anyone's yum, but this one's just not for me on the trope. Did really enjoy Mary Kubica's writing though, so if that trope/theme is not something that bothers you I bet this is a GREAT time
