I have never been a parent, but kidnapping stories still manage to be entirely chilling. The narrator seems to be a high-powered individual and she is brought to her knees by this call from her daughter. I have not read a lot of thrillers involving a kidnapped child so I appreciated getting to read this different type of domestic thriller.
