This book enraged me in the best possible way. This book is for everyone. It teaches empathy and the first person perspective brings the feelings home. As a librarian I love to find books with first person accounts. They give validity to the stories being told and that is very important to me. As a previous school librarian, I love books that show the plight of others in a way that really affects the reader as so many youth do not understand what it means to feel empathy for another person. Some of the stories are absolutely meant for adult readers but there are parts I could see using with a teen reader that would help better understand another's struggles. I could also see this being a useful tool for those who have struggled with this type of mistreatment. The voice is so real that it will likely be therauputic to those who need to hear these stories.
