Overall I give this book 3.5 stars because I didn't love it but it was good. I think this book had some powerful points and stories that would break even the toughest of hearts. Following a Zimbabwean immigrant, the story hit really close to home as I have family who are from that country. While there are some stories that break your heart, there are also those that will fill you with hope and joy. I think that the balance between these two types of stories was really well done and conveyed the myriad of emotions she was going through.

There are 16 stories total and each has the ability to stand on its own. The writing is strong and I felt like I was passively being educated about both the country of Zimbabwe and the language. There are so many different points in this book that I really enjoyed and I will be sharing this book with my family as they may better relate to the struggles.
