I thought that overall, this was a great collection of stories. In my opinion, the author did a great job of portraying the struggles that immigrant Black women experience in the United States of America. As a black woman myself, the discrimination involving skin color, culture, beliefs, and appearance really hit home. It's unfortunate that this still happens in the US today, but I respect and appreciate Kaseke being so open with these experiences. She really tackles some difficult but relevant situations.

I appreciate that some of the protagonists were in the USA, while others were in Zimbabwe.

While I enjoyed some stories more than others, I thought they were all well written. I liked that the author's writing style was more straight forward and easy to digest. I also thought that the author's character work was really well done, with both the protagonists and the secondary characters.
