This is a collection of short stories told from the perspective of Zimbabwean women. Some of them have immigrated to the US, while some are still in Zimbabwe, but all the stories have a powerful theme of identity, racism, and belonging, as well as issues of misogyny, and how women are treated no matter where they are.

These are well written and engaging, and all are compelling even though some of them are hard to get through, in large part because of how upsetting the themes are. I really liked how many topics were covered, such a range of experiences these characters faced.

This is a pretty quick read but leaves a powerful message and I would recommend reading. My favorite stories were The Zimbabwean Dream, It's So Much More Complicated When You Love Him, Not So Micro, and Imported Husband.
