Send Her Back and Other Stories a collection of short stories that centers around Zimbabwean women and their relationships to America/American ideals. The stories largely focus on the inability for these women to reconcile the cultural differences and ideals between the two nations, and the burdens, stress, and turmoil that occur as a result.

I think the writing throughout the collection is really solid and engaging. Almost every short story left me wanting more. I will say that this was not a pleasant reading experience. It's something that would be best digested over time, as so many of these stories end in tragedy or unresolved rage, trauma, or suffering. I think the collection is a worthwhile read, but I would classify it as dark and sad. There were very few uplifting pieces in this collection, and that did make it difficult at times to keep turning the pages.

The book itself is really well made. The cover paper is really sturdy and the actual cover is a unique shade of blue. I think the book has a lot to offer, but it isn't something that everyone can just pick up.
