I love when books address important topics like this and I’m sure these stories contain some powerful messages, but the writing feels incredibly stiff. I would have a difficult time staying engaged with this book all the way through. Short stories are especially hard sells and they need to grab the reader immediately with rich writing and provocative first lines.
