"What the sea wants, the sea will have."
Avril goes back to a place she has no memory of in search of who her mother was and what happened to them on a dark night.

I have very mixed feeling about this book. Overall I enjoyed the story. I have seen many reviews saying it was predictable, but I am not one that usually predicts the ending, and that was the case for this story as well. I loved the setting, it was a dark mysterious coastal town that had a case of paranormal fog, I wish this concept was more important in the story, but it makes since that everyone has there theories and moves on. My biggest problem with this story is how Avril is acting. She constantly doesn't eat, passes out, sees visions... and no one seems to care that much besides her friends checking up on her. This story does have Insta-love because the whole story is only 4weeks long. I didn't mind it much because they are teenagers and they usually do rush into things quickly. My problem with it though is the line delivery. Some of them were so cringy. I like how the story is delivered. It is broken up in pieces as Avril is remembering what happened. It adds to the mystery of Whisper Cove.
