This was so beautifully written - I felt the eeriness of Whisper Cove through the pages. The ending was a little ambiguous for my liking but overall, this was a beautiful story about finding yourself and knowing who you are.

Avril was such an interesting character. Watching her try to learn who she is in addition to trying to remember her mother was at times heartbreaking and at times inspiring.

Whisper Cove was so perfectly described and I loved the mystical realism of it. The creepiness of the fog rolling in every night, the glimpses of things that shouldn't be there, you felt it all through the page. Fog does have a way of making things seem unnatural and that was captured so perfectly on the pages.

The "villain" was both surprising and not surprising. Some of clues I picked up on but I did like that not all of the clues were available until right before the reveal. Since this was less about the mystery of how Avril's mom died and more about Avril finding herself, I liked that the focus wasn't fully on what happened on that night 12 years ago.
