I fell in love with the writing of Ginny Myer Sain in her first novel Dark and Shallow Lies. She doesn't just write a book for you to read, she sends you on a journey where you feel like you're there. In this book Secrets so deep, you follow Avril on a journey to her past, to get answers to questions her father wouldn't give, and in doing so, meets Cole, whom she has an instant connection with, even though she doesn't quite know why. Follow Avril as she goes to acting camp in the same town that 12 years prior her mother passes away in, and learn along with Avril the tales of the night that it all went down! The book was never dull, it was quick moving and I devoured it in two evenings after work! The authors descriptive story almost makes you feel like you're there, and before you know it, the book is over, and the book hangover starts!
Trigger warnings: death, mention of suicide, arson.
