Saving Paradise looks like a completely different sort of thriller. I've read countless thriller novels claiming to be something different...but this one? It actually lives up to that boast.
I love how much of the culture Mike Bond managed to pull into the novel - even with only seeing the excerpt I can see how much work went into this element. It's not everyday you see something like that.
As for the thriller aspect, I'll admit that I'm intrigued. I don't know where it's going to end up, or who will be involved or anything like that. It's a refreshing change of pace.
