Having visited the Hawaiian Islands, and Oahu being my favorite, I was quickly drawn into this setting. I don’t read a lot of murder or crime stories, so I’m not sure if the writer’s voice is the norm for this genre, but it was a bit forced and wordy for me. The author paints a great scene, but I wasn’t completely drawn into the story.
