Hawaiian Cover Up
We've got a dead body within the first page of this Hawaiian mystery. It's clear that action is going to drive the narrative.
Cons: Full of action but character development is minimal. Also, I couldn't understand why the main character was so invested in investigating the reporter's murder. I get that he discovered the body, but I still was puzzled as to why he was motivated to the point of obsession.
Pros: I really enjoyed the descriptions of Hawaii environment and lore. Plus, I appreciated that the author full tilt went after the exploitation of the Hawaiian people.
I would have to read more of this book before I felt that I had given it a chance.
The cover is beautiful, just like Hawaii.
