The narrator wasn't particularly likable, and at times, I even found him a bit irritating. The way the story begins, with the juxtaposition between the nice descriptions of the morning and the terrible discovery, is kind of wild and surreal. I enjoyed the vivid and detailed descriptions of Hawaii, but that's pretty much it.
